A gorgeous smile can enhance your life both socially and professionally. Beautiful teeth can increase your confidence at a staggering level. A glittering smile isn’t only for movie stars!

One visit with us and you will see the extent our team will go in order to make you as comfortable as possible. We take great pride in showing just how caring dentistry can be. You’ll enjoy the comfortable atmosphere we provide, and we have no doubt that you will make Dr. Louis A. Hassell your new dentist of choice.

In addition to standard dental services, our staff provides experienced professional care in:

  • Veneers
If you are uncomfortable with your smile because your teeth are uneven, oddly shaped, chipped, crooked or have other irregularities, Porcelain Veneers offer a natural-looking option, without orthodontics or braces. Porcelain Veneers are used by dentists for front teeth only and are used to straighten teeth, change the color and or shape of teeth and even close gaps between teeth.

Veneers are thin porcelain sheets (shaped to fit your specific teeth and mouth), which are bonded to the front of existing teeth, without removing substantial surface. To provide a consistent overall effect, Dr. Hassell typically applies a group of veneers at the same time. The result is a straight, even smile with teeth that are consistent in color and shape - A beautiful smile that will last for years to come.
  • Crowns
Crowns are similar to veneers, but work on teeth that are weaker, more brittle or worn. Unlike veneers, dental crowns are bonded all the way around the tooth to add a lot more strength and durability. Natural-looking crowns can be an option when the entire surface of the tooth is a problem, but the root system is still intact. Large scale defects in the tooth's surface can be caused by the grinding of teeth, tooth decay, root canals, decay beneath a filling or a lost filling, chipping and cracking of the enamel.

Although gold or metal crowns are still used, durable porcelain crowns made from pure ceramic or a new reinforced composite resin have become more popular and are almost indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Dr. Hassell helps dental patients achieve bright and more attractive smiles with crowns. We offer one-day crowns, call our office at 843 767-3300 for details.

  • Teeth Whitening
If you don't smile as much because your teeth have become discolored, dingy, or stained, teeth whitening can get you smiling again. Teeth whitening can be performed to provide you with overall whiter, brighter teeth, or if one tooth is discolored, a more consistent color. There are various teeth or tooth whitening procedures, and your specific needs should be considered when consulting with your dentist.

At Dr. Hassell’s office, we are committed to providing the latest in cosmetic dentistry services. That's why we offer the most advanced teeth whitening technology available through Luma Arch and Colgate Visibly White. The Luma Arch process uses a patented gel and laser light technology and takes about an hour to 90-minutes, whitening your teeth 3-4 shades. It's safe and fast, and you will see dramatic results immediately, The results last for a long time.

If cost is a concern, use our Colgate 7-day whitening system. We make custom trays, you take them home, use the professional Colgate product and note visibly whiter teeth within 3-days.

  • Invisalign Clear Braces
Invisalign braces are clear plastic shells that are worn over the teeth to give you the straight smile traditional braces would have given you, but without the associated brackets and wires.  Invisalign clear braces can correct the mild to moderate spacing and crowding problems that you may have.

Many people would like to have the beautiful, straight teeth that braces would provide.  Unfortunately, the idea of having the metal brackets and wires that are used with traditional braces keep many individuals from getting the straight teeth they want.

With a series of specially designed removable plastic shells, called aligners, Invisalign can shift your teeth into the straight positions that you’ve always wanted.  Unlike traditional braces, there is no metal permanently bonded to your teeth.  Also, since Invisalign clear braces are removable, you don’t have to make any changes in your diet.

Benefiting from Invisalign braces begins with scheduling an initial consultation with Dr. Hassell. During your initial consultation, you can discuss with Dr. Hassell what results you would like to see using invisalign.  Dr. Hassell will determine if Invisalign is the right procedure for you and make an impression of your teeth if it is.

The impression is then sent to Align Technology with specific instructions for what changes are to be made to your teeth.  Then a 3D computer is used to create a series of aligners that will gradually shift your teeth into position.

When Dr. Hassell receives the aligners, he will invite you back to his office, where you will be outfitted with your aligners.  Each Invisalign aligner has been designed so that it is worn for a couple weeks, and then replaced by the next aligner in the series.

Invisalign aligners are worn throughout the day, and can be removed while you are eating.  Because they are made out of clear plastic, they are virtually invisible to everyone.  Also, Invisalign provides you with proven results without having to commit to years of having metal in your mouth. To start using Invisalign clear braces call Dr. Hassell at 843 767-3300.   During your initial consultation, Dr. Hassell will answer any additional questions that you may have as well as determine what results you want to see.
  • Tooth-Colored Fillings
Natural tooth-colored fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal or silver dental fillings (Amalgam fillings). Tooth fillings that are colored to look like a natural tooth are known as Composite Resin Dental Fillings and porcelain fillings ( CEREC- in office one visit restorations). The porcelain fillings maintain their color and stability for years after placement. The Composite Resin Dental Fillings are strong, durable, and offers an alternative filling that gives an aesthetically pleasing result. Both choices of fillings avoid the use of mercury found in traditional metal fillings.

If you have old silver fillings that you want replaced, we can do it! Give us a call and ask how you can get the old silver fillings removed and replaced with the natural tooth-colored fillings.
  • Dental Implants
Today, if you lose one or more teeth, you now have options beyond bridges and partial dentures. One of those options is dental implants. Dental implants are titanium fixtures that are surgically screwed into the jaw bone and are used to anchor natural-looking false teeth. Since the bone grows around the implant, the result is a smile that not only looks completely natural, but one that feels and functions more like your own teeth.

Dental implants are not only an option for patients who lose one tooth. Patients who are missing most, if not all, of their teeth can greatly enjoy the benefits as well.

Unlike dentures and removable bridges, which are usually loose and unstable, dental implants provide a permanent replacement. Implants look and feel much better than dentures and traditional removable bridges, and offer the same force for biting as bridges that are fixed in place. Since this is surgery, we spend the necessary time to inform you of all the details, including the risks, regarding dental implant surgery.
